How do i get my daughter hair to grow long if she is afican american?
This is a soft spot for me. When I was growing my family couldn't get my hair to go for i$h beacause they thought it was too nappy. Now I have a 10 yr. old with fine hair just like mine and everyone is so impressed with her hair because it is long with texture like mine. I'm a hair stylist and I shampoo and condition with Design Essential's Stimulations. What I love to do to a lot people is apply cold-pressed olive oil after you shampoo. Do not rinse. Then apply the Stimulations over the olive oil, comb through and rinse. Try it on yourself, too. I agree with Nicloe B. A good diet, too. Healthy hair grows from within. Try a regular one-a-day with lots of water.

First, prenatal vitamins don't make your hair grow, the hormonal changes in pregnancy make your hair grow or some people experience breakage. A healthy diet and drinking lots of water help!
Keep her ends trimmed and keep her scalp clean (no grease or product buildup) a healthy scalp= growth. Tight braids aren't good because they pull hair out from the root. If they are done right she should be OK though.
Most people's hair grows 1/4"- 1/2" a month so don't expect much more than this.

My hair grew like wildfire (amongst so many other FANTASTIC improvements!) when I did a colon cleanse . I won't try to convince you alone, just read the testimonials on the drnatura website:
Testimonials on Colonix about skin, hair, and acne:

Colonix system product:

Also, this is another product I won't do without- made my hair healthy and makes it grow:

Also, get her a satin pillowcase (Sally Beauty Supply $9)-- cotton pillowcases suck moisture from hair and skin, and cause breakage too. :)
The best to you and her! :)
Ps,
I'm mixed, blk/wht- my hair doesn't grow very fast on it's own- which is why I'm so impressed with the aforementioned products... :)

Every African American has different hair so who's to say what regimen would work for you daughter, try going to this website- www.blackhairmedia.com- they give you good advice on growing your hair. Now I braid hair and people have said that i have "growing hands" whatever that means, but it all depends, sometimes your hair can be braided too tight with the weave and it pulls at the root of your hair causing it to come out, and to be brittle, some people hair reacts differently to different styles. but try going to that website, you'll have experts and others who have tried different regimens to give you some good advice. Good Luck
