perming it WILL damage it tho so it may SEEM like it's stopped growing because it'll start breaking and the breakage will just keep shortening and shortening your hair, so it SEEMS like it's stopped, but it hasn't.

It wont stop it growing but it is VERY damaging! It will slow the process down as any chemical treatment does! I advise against perming buti mean if your dead set on curly hair what can i say!

Im a hairdresser (in the making!) and after i do a perm i tend to notice how much effort it is for a client to keep a perm up as when your roots grow through they are indeed straight! SO you have to keep getting it done! and it makes your hair porus (damaged) and dry!
