like dark brown, or black. I`ve never used any colorants in my hair and it`s really silky..will coloring change the texture? I`m fair-skinned..won`t dark hair sort of wash me out? If your guy wants you to change so he is happy, change the guy. It is YOUR body. DO what makes YOU happy, what YOU want. When a guy starts dictating and nagging about how he wants you to look, be worried. That is a sign of a controlling and domineering type of person. If he doesn't like the fact that you don't want to dye your hair - tough! He isn't worth it if he complains.
Once you dye your hair it is soooo hard to get it back to your original state. You can't get your natural hair color out of a bottle!

Your hair looked like it does now when you got together so tell him that he should still love you for who you are. Colorings and perms do horrible chemical processes to your hair that can make it frizzy, dried out and unmanageable. I personally have light blue eyes with jet black hair. My skin in the winter is fair but it looks right on me because it is my natural color. I am sure you are beautiful just as you are now, I would not change a thing. Dying your light hair dark will screw it up in the long run. If you don't like the color, only harsh bleach will get it blonde again and even then you won't have the same color you had before.

But for your questions - yep, it's going to be a drastic change and you won't recognize the person in the mirror for a while. Ask how he feels about some highlights. The highlights will soften the color up some.
I would experiment with some short term hair products. Color glazes, or temporary perms. Get an idea what it might look like before doing anything that you'll be stuck with for several months. Also remember do it the new way for a few days before you make up your mind hard and fast how much you like it. The first few times you see yourself like this are going to be more shock than actual well thought out critique.

It sounds like he just wants a small change. ok a big change but it is hair dye it will wash/fade out. If you get the kind that washes out in 28 shampoos you have no worries about damaging your hair. As far as the curling goes if you have energy just use a curling iorn or go in and have your hair curled you do not have to perm it. I would try it for him. If you dont like it, you can say you tried and he will be ok with that.
My guy had a dream once that my hair was dark and curly and thought it looked hot in his dream. I did it for him. He realized he liked me better the way I was before was really happy and turned on that I tried it for him.

You have the same colouring as me and dark colours do not suit that colouring, you will look older, washed out and possibly boring as well. Don't dye it and don't perm it, he met you as you are and should not be pressuring you. Dying your hair will ruin the texture if you are not careful, it will go dry and possibly break as well.
